No More Fat Forever

Some people seem to eat anything they want and never get fat. Others seem to look at food and gain weight. Why? When most people are young, they rarely have to worry about getting fat but when they get older, gaining weight is easy. Why?

It has to do with our metabolism. Your metabolic rate is how fast your body burns calories. Your metabolic rate varies depending on genetics, age and activity. If you change your metabolism enough, you can eat more and still loose weight. Some people can actually burn more calories sitting on the couch eating ice cream than other people can by going for a walk. So what should you or shouldn't you do to improve your metabolic rate?

One thing that slows your metabolism is fasting or dieting too much. Many people wonder why they eat less, loose weight, then gain it back even though they are still eating less. When you eat less your body can slow your metabolism because it thinks you may be starving. Temporary diets can become endless cycles of failure as you eat less, metabolism slows down, and you gain weight on less food than before. I call this YoYO dieting. The only real, life-time weight loss program is to change your life style and daily habits. Change your daily activities, foods, and metabolism. Long term weight control is a balance of exercise and a proper diet. This does not mean all weight loss products are useless. Some of these products combined with new habits can help. Remember the number one rule for weight loss is easy: "Move more than you eat." Burn more fat than you put into your body and change you metabolism at the same time. Of course if you are fat you need to eat less, or eat less harmful foods, replacing them with healthier foods. But, keep in mind you can gain weight on healthy foods too, if you are doing nothing to boost your metabolism.

Diet: Store less Fat

You probably already know that body changes carbohydrates, fat and protein into energy. But, unused energy from carbohydrates and fats are stored in your body as more fat. It seems like commons sense, but if the intake is greater than the output; you get fat. If the output,(of calories burned) is greater than the input,(calories eaten) you loose weight.

How to chose Weight Loss Products and Programs?

What about diet programs and products that claim you can eat whatever you want and lose weight? In most cases these are false claims, but their are ways to make this statement true. If you change what you want to eat to be more fiber; less fat; less sugar, fewer carbohydrates, and healthy supplements you can eat acceptable amounts and still lose weight. You can consider these products or programs but beware of any that claim all you have to do is swallow a magic pill or drink and do nothing else. Lifestyle changes still must be made for lasting results.

Ingredients: More is Generally Not Better

We are often tricked into believing more is better, but as you know; anything in excess can be bad. One problem with a product with too many ingredients is that there is not enough of any one ingredient to do any good. You also know from chemistry class that mixing two things may product something totally different, without the qualities of either of them.

Scientific research and weight loss products:

Claims of scientific research must be evaluated. If the real scientific research was done on one singled out ingredient, it may or may not be true about the mixed product formula. Good research would be unbiased, properly designed, independent studies specifically on that formula or product mix. Most of the time adequate research is not enough on one particular product.

On this site we will post some recommendation for products and programs that may help you. However each person is unique and different things work for different people. We filter our recommendations to those we believe may help; but you need to try them to see if they work for you. Keep in mind, changing your lifestyle and metabolism naturally through exercise is still necessary for long term weight loss you. Only then will you reach your ideal weight and stay there.

Free Things You Can Do:

New habits as simple as drinking more ice water can help. It takes energy from your body to heat ice water and drinking more water helps your body process foods to pass through your system properly. Some research indicates that five or more cups of green tea per day may cause a slight increase in metabolism. Cold green tea may be even better. Most diet changes are common sense; less sugar, less bread, less fat, less oily foods, sweet drinks, etc.

If you can't reach your target heart rate to change your metabolism, you can still loose weight by moving to burn more calories than you are eating. Moderate exercise done more often will still help you loose weight. How to change your metabolic rate so you can enjoy the foods you did before?
