Health and Fitness

Of course, one can not enjoy success or experience much pleasure nor peace without being healthy. Here we will explore regeneration, habits, and activities that can help you break the destructive cycles to improve your health, fitness, and pleasurable living. A higher quality of life demands learning and applying new behaviors. A long life and a high quality life are not the same thing. One can live a long life full of pain and suffering, or a short one full of pleasure, peace, and joy. Understanding and achieving a higher quality of life for as long as possible will be the center of our explorations here.

Where to Begin

Again, you begin change by beginning to become more aware. Begin thinking about the destructive habits you already know are bad. What daily activities and destructive cycles are you repeating that are causing you more pain than pleasure, more stress than peace, and are bringing your body closer to death rather than good health?

One natural law for a healthier life seems to be moderation. Too much or too little of many things will damage your health. Many studies have shown that most of the people who live extra long lives are people who eat less than the common person. Some of these ideas are commonly known, but as Einstein said, "Common sense in not very common." In this area we will primarily explore valid research and experiences that lead to healthier, more fit living.

We will begin where all fitness training should begin; with re-learning how to move. Improper weight lifting will lead to an ugly, unbalanced, and easily damaged body. Improper sports training limits ones skills in that sport. Improper running leads to cardiovascular ant joint problems. Improper Yoga and stretching will lead to weak and easily damaged joints. A balanced, fit body requires strengthening, flexibility, and endurance training. These include strengthening muscles and joints, improving the heart, lungs, and circulatory systems, and flexibility for mobility. Movement is life.

Movement is Life

Movement is life. In all of nature, without movement there is no life. When movement stops too long, death will come soon. A moving stream flowing down a mountain is purified as it runs across the rocks and sand. The spring of moving water gathers life giving oxygen for the fish and other creatures within it. But when all movement stops and no fresh water is added to a pond, death begins. The water becomes black, smells foul, and devoid of life. You are the same. Much of one's destructive aging process is not always due to age, but is due to less and less movement of the body, mind, and spirit as you get older. You have met many teenagers who's bodies are older and less healthy than some sixty year olds. Being able to move freely, stress free, easily within natural ranges of motion, is a o pain free mobility and excellence at any sport or pleasurable activity.

True mobility, is being able to move within useful ranges of movement without pain or stress. To move easily without pain. Movement with the proper amount of rest and stillness are keys that release the joy of living a higher quality life.

In our Movement is Life ™ mobility training we will be providing resources and materials to help you re-learn how to move. Whether your goal is to improve your health, rehabilitation of an injury, restoration of pain free movement, increased performance in your favorite sports, increasing pleasurable activities, removing physical limitations, or longevity, exploring and retraining your movement will make it possible for you to reach your goals.
